While I was stationed at Lexington Park, MD in the early 70's I made a very dear friend who was from Waldorf, MD. Her family had a big farm there. She invited me up to her parents for the Christmas Holiday as I couldn't go home to Oregon. Her mom had a huge ham she was preparing for dinner. I was fascinated watching her preparing this ham. She had a huge bowl of cabbage and other things that had been marinating. She cut slits into the ham to the bone then had us girls stuff handfulls of the cabbage mix into the slits. She then baked it. For someone who dislikes cooked cabbage I was somewhat skeptical as to wether I would like it. IT WAS THE BEST HAM I HAVE EVER EATEN. I have searched many food sites trying to find a recipe for this ham and have not found any. If anyone has a recipe for this I would like to get it.
