I went to Martick's on Friday night, and I'm putting up this post because I hope that people remember this place when they can't think of where to go to dinner.

The food was pretty good, all in all, though they've raised their prices a wee bit. The pate, as always, was fantastic. The sweet potato soup has received a "Best of Baltimore"; although it's awfully sweet so I can see how people might not like it. They've added a few new dishes to the menu like rockfish and blackened lamb. The signature dishes are duck and bouillabaisse, and if you call ahead a couple of days, I understand that he'll be happy to make sure it's available for you.

But the best part of the night was eating with a couple who started going to Martick's twenty-five years ago. They hadn't been there for awhile, and for them, it was a walk down memory lane. Lots of stories about the way things used to be. Morris Martick made an appearance as always, and with a little prodding, he'll tell some stories.

If you've not been for awhile, I would encourage you to go. After all, it won't be around forever.
