marouch, hollywood: a review

greetings la chowhounds,
i went to an incredible lebanese/armenian restaurant on santa monica blvd and edgemont (hollywood-ish, i guess) over the holiday weekend called marouch and it was good. very good. in fact, it was the best lebanese food i've ever tried. we ordered an array of appetizers: baba ganouge-amazingly creamy and smoky, the most distinctive and tastiest i've yet sampled; a ful and tahini combo plate with the tahini packing quite a garlicy-punch and the favabeans cooked to perfect softness; mouhammara, the pepper and walnut and olive oil pate...the first and not the last time i will order this tasty dish; lentil soup, which was so thick and creamy it was more like split pea; fattoush salad, a perfect blend of cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, bell peppers, green onions and toasted pita bread seved in a light and tangy lemon dressing, and a mixed grill combo of lamb, beef and chicken. ambiance was great, service was friendly, food was excellent and prices very reasonable. for full review with pics you can click on the link below.
