Hi. I'm curious to know if anyone's bought the newest Mark Bittman book? How is it? I live by his weekly Minimalist columns in the Times and swear by both Minimalist cookbooks. I'm hedging on this new one, though, because honestly, I find that practically speaking I hardly ever use a cookbook if it's really gargantuan (I rarely use the Cooks Illustrated "best Recipe" cookbook for that reason, even though I love the mag).
Anyhow, is this one worth buying? And how was that last one where Bittman recreated recipes from famous chefs? It didn't sound great from the Amazon reviews, but if the recipes are good, maybe I'll pick it up.
