As a devoted watcher of Mario Batali on FoodTV, I was compelled to visit two of his establishments over the weekend, on our semiyearly trip from the boonies to the city. We ate at Esca Saturday evening and at Lupa Sunday evening. These guys know how to design and operate a restaurant! We were simply overwhelmed with the food, wine, service and price. So much authentic stuff so well presented. No wonder they are packed. Babbo in the spring!
