Marinara sauce -- help me use it

comestible | Oct 27, 201009:36 PM     23

It is nearly the end of fresh tomato season here in the northeast. I made a pizza the other night with what I had of fresh tomatoes, but I'd purchased a tub of marinara sauce from the good local Italian salumeria, just in case I needed it.

I didn't, so I still have most of it.

My wife is not a fan of pasta with marinara sauce poured over it -- she prefers a quick, freshly made sauce with ripe tomatoes -- so I need a more creative solution! Maybe lasagna...or your suggestions.

Thanks!
