Manoushee - Santa Clarita = Excellent

LisaN | Mar 6, 2010 04:50 PM

This place is near Costco in Canyon country and has fantastic pastries and lunch items such as cheese or spinach turnovers, chicken wrap, schwarma wrap, lamajoin, and a variety of delightful middle eastern pastries.

I've been going there for a year now, and every time is as good as all the others, I've never been disappointed. The food is all fresh made and delicious, I've never had anything I haven't liked.

When I go, I end up bringing home grape leaves, hummus, pita, tabouli or this fantastic chickpea salad to eat for lunch for the next couple of days. The cheese and spinach turnovers heat up nicely for lunch the next day.

My absolute favorite thing is the chicken wrap, which is chicken, tomatoes, garlic sauce and turnip pickles all served on pita bread that is baked right before being served to you, can't get much fresher than that!

All their sweets are delicious, they make baklava with walnuts, or cashews or pistachios and any of the cookies I've tried are awesome, I apologize, I don't know the names of all of them, my favorite are the ones that have a date filling.

The women who work there are so nice and will answer any questions you have on any of the items. If you are anywhere in the area, you definitely need to stop in! The prices are also very reasonable! 12 grape leaves are little over $5, large containers of hummus about the same, 6 pita baked fresh, $2!

They are also making vegetarian lamajoun since it is lent right now, and offer other meat free items including cheese or spinach turnovers, tabouli.

There are only a few tables inside, and if its nice outside there are a few tables outside as well. I've attached pictures of some of my favorites below, but the pictures don't do the food justice!
