I'm headed to the Philippines in a few short days after a 3 or 4 year absence. I'll be in Bacolod for a bit, then Dumaguete and Siquijor (a couple of nights each), back to Bacolod, then on to Manila for the last 4 days of my trip. I'm looking for any suggestions for eats in any of the above places!

So far, for Manila, I've got Bistro Manuel (from the former Lolo Dad's) and Taperia Poblacion - one for dinner, one for lunch (haven't decided which for which, yet). it's very close to my aunt's pied de terre, so they're choices based on location, but I have high hopes for the quality. Milky Way is always on the list, but I never end up going. And of course, Saturday morning at Salcedo Market, with perhaps an earlier morning stop at the FTI . And I would like to visit WildFlour again, in the hopes of getting some kouign amann.

Bacolod may end up being the usuals (Aboys, Capriccioso, maybe 21 for some chicken bums), but if there are any new and exciting places anyone is aware of, please share!

And Dumaguete and Siquijor are pretty much open. I've done research, but haven't found anything interesting (Filipino food or otherwise) other than Sans Rival Cakes in Dumaguete. I found nothing of interest in Siquijor, but I hope we don't end up at our hotel for every meal (Coco Grove), as when I saw pics of the clientele, I felt it might not be my sort of place. But I'm trying to keep an open mind!

(BTW, am I the only one who is offended that Chow STILL hasn't fixed the spelling of "Manila" in their tags???)
