I decided to purchase the cheapie Martha Steward mandoline from K-Mart, and so far it works fine. I couldn't resist julienning a lot of zucchini, and I'm figuring I'll saute it quickly in garlicky olive oil. Any other suggestions? I am draining it in paper towels--there's a lot of water in zucchini!
By the way, the mandoline works great for slicing potatoes to make into chips in the microwave.
