My husband and I checked this out the other night. We really really wanted to like it since it's close to home, but...
Service was friendly but unexceptional, and we had a hard time getting our check when we were ready to leave. Ambience is pizza-dive, far inferior what the prices would lead you to expect... or rather, we never expected it to be as expensive as it was, based on its appearance. It's noisy, and the place feels cheap and plasticky, but entrees average about $16-19.
More importantly, the food was hit-and-miss, mostly miss. The bread and oil they served before the meal was nice and crusty and served with a tasty herbed olive oil. The Insalata di Tuna was mediocre at best; overly mayonnaisey and bland. The house salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing was better, but still bland. The Pollo Saltimboca was very good... two flattened breasts of chicken with prosciutto and cheese in an excellent sauce/broth, but it was served with a GIGANTIC serving of overcooked, bland penne.
I'll go back again to try the pizza, which seemed to be the most popular item on the menu judging from the other diners, but that's if the pizza's not really excellent, then it definitely did not seem worth another visit.
Anybody have a better experience? Recommend things we should order that would make up for the initial overall bad first impression?
