Another place i've been meaning to post about is Malio's, which has been around for at least 25 years, and is owned by one of the three Iavarone brothers, who all run good restaurants in the area. I had a wonderful lunch there over the holidays, which confirmed all the good stuff i'd heard about it.

the filet was tender, the veal marsala excellent, the shrimp appetizer very good, and for dessert, the peach Malio cannot be beat: cold peaches on top of homemade vanilla ice cream all topped with amaretto. simply a divine and cleansing way to end an excellent meal. In true tampa fashion, most entrees are served with yellow rice on a hot plate. best of all, a generous lunch for 2 with apps and dessert ran me exacly $50, including the tip.

the place has a nice, inviting but classy feel. My girlfriend and I walked out of there on a pink cloud. For the price, can it be beaten? I could spend twice as much at Bern's, but would it be twice as good? I guess I'll have to find out!
