I was really excited when I heard about this place opening in the Arboretum. Not another chain! It's the sister restaurant to Cuisine Malaya in Elizabeth.

We finally had a chance to go for a quick lunch on Sunday. We enjoyed everything we got but thought some of the prices were odd ($4.75 for cucumber salad bought us a very small bowl of sliced cucumber in a delicious dressing but c'mon, $4.75?). On the other hand, the Tom Yum soup for around $2.50 was a decent sized bowl and great soup.

It's been a long time since I've been to Cuisine Malaya so I don't know how the two compare but both seem to have a huge variety of dishes from other countries (pad thai, pho, sushi at Cuisine Malaya) which I understand is typical of Malasian restaurants since the country has always been at a cross road. But in my experience, restaurants trying to be all things to all, especially in a part of the shopping center that has two other Asian restaurants, is a risk.

I noticed two of the servers were from Sushi 101 (Providence Commons). Not sure if they were the owners or managers. Very nice people, great service.

What's the story fellow Chowhounders? Who has been and what did you order?
