I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I tried making pizza at home last night and it was a disaster. We bought pre-made dough at the store (it was slightly frozen in a plastic bag). We let it thaw in the fridge overnight and pulled it out last night. It was pretty sticky so I put a little flour on my hands and on the outside, but I still couldb't get it to form right. My girlfriend said her mom uses olive oil to push it out. She is Italian, so what the hell, we tried that. From there things went downhill fast. The dough would not stay stretched, it was tearing etc.
Can someone help me? Was I suppose to let it rise? Was I not suppose to use oil? Also, a recipe I found online said to preheat the pizza stone in the oven, so I was trying to form the pizza on a cutting board. Needless to say, I ordered out.
