Making a great seasoning for shrimp chips

I just bought some shrimp chips and made them at home; they're a fun childhood memory, if not exactly high cuisine. I want to make a seasoning for them, something salty to sprinkle on right after they come out of the oil but I also want it to be spicy. I was thinking about combining some tamari or ponzu, chili flakes, maybe some dried shrimp and rice wine vinegar and cooking it down, on the stove or in the oven on low heat, into something that I could flake and sprinkle. Does anyone have any suggestions on ingredients or techniques? Thanks in advance.....
