Making Great Cheese at Home - Barbara Clietti, can I do this at home???

I picked up the book, Making Great Cheese at Home. Can I really do this at home with success? Any suggestions to get started?

I think I will start with Whole-Cream Ricotta or the Queso Blanco. Eventually would like to work up to some of the recipes with rennet.

Help give me the courage to step forward! Fellow chowhounds, help this cheesehead, please!
