Making amends for bad kugel

roy | Apr 21, 2005 02:29 PM

A friend of mine had a taste for kugel. She's a new mom and very busy (and tired). While at Whole Foods, I bought some kugel from their prepared foods section. I delivered the kugel to my friend and took some home for me. I had it after lunch and it is absolutley the worst kugel one could imagine. If I tried to create bad kugel, I don't think I could do as well. It was noodle-tough, over sweet, lacking any extras -- in a word, bleck! (Not that I expected it to rival Grammy Rachel's but I did hope for a decent piece.)

I would like to redeem myself and present my friend with a better kugel experience. As I live near Bedford, I may end up making it myself but I'd welcome your recommendations.
