Maison Giraud

I've been a few times now and I have to say I am quite pleased with everything I tried. I had high expectations for this place, but not unreasonably so - it is geared to be a great local restaurant rather a restaurant shooting for haute honors. However, if you hit up the "left" side of the menu (the appetizers ) and you can get a pretty good taste of what Giraud was doing at Bastide. The "Town and Country" egg dishes, the scallops on braised leeks (I think that's what it was) w/pistachio and (Meyer lemon?), the squid was great too (I'd have squid first, scallops second). (I have a feeling I'll be ordering these the next time, and the time after that...)

Food was perfect, the kitchen delivered in a timely fashion, but the service is still finding it's legs. To be expected at this stage.

It hits a certain sweet spot for Palisadians - who have been living in the dark ages for decades - now they finally have a great restaurant.
