OK 'hounds, I'm looking for some help. I have two or three food-centric folks on my gift list. I'm kindof a cheap bastard, so I'm looking for food-oriented gifts around $50. I have to be able to do the ordering by phone or on-line. I have used Harry & David in the past and I love their pears, but I've found some of their other stuff too expensive and sometimes not even of supermarket quality (navel oranges in particular, but what do they know about oranges in Oregon?). My brother, one of the recipients, is a hunter/fisher, so old standards like smoked salmon or venison sausage won't work for him--so while I don't mind suggestions like those (after all, I do have at least one person who might like that kind of stuff) I'm looking for a broader range of choices. What are your favorite mail-order food items for Christmas and Hanukkah? If you can, please provide contact info. Thanks in advance.
