After reading about this restaurant's opening and the fact that the chef was formerly with Cafe Asean, I decided to give it a try Saturday night and was not disappointed. Normally, the term "pan-asian" means gloppy sweet americanized crap, but not here. The dumplings, asian pancake, chicken and fish dishes we sampled were excellent-- far better than any competition in Brooklyn-- especially good in the realm of spicing, with lemongrass tones blending nicely into the mix. This place just opened on Friday night and was pretty slow Saturday. Also, the place is sort of in a no-man's land right before 3rd avenue. However, the lighting was excellent, the garden looked lovely, and I think this will be an excellent addition to the neighborhood, far surpassing ALL the Thai and Vietnamese restaurants I have sampled in Park Slope AND Boreum/Cobble Hill.
