Ma La Peanuts in Flushing

lisa | Dec 19, 2005 10:18 PM

Today after a brief, last-minute Holiday shopping spree at Macy's in Flushing, I was pining for some of that fabulous ma la broccoli stalk combo that I had picked up at one of the food stalls in the Mayflower Food Mall on Main Street right next to KFC....I remembered HLing's peanut suggestion and purchased a container to go with my brocc. Yum! The peanuts with the preserved bamboo shoots (I think...) were such a fabulous combination- the perfect amount of fire and salt with a great crunch. I also got a few griddle-cooked scallion pancakes and rice noodle squares from the stalls under the railroad on Main Street. The pancakes were doughy and flavorful. They were extra good today- not greasy at all. It was a perfect snack.

Definitely try those nuts. They are addictive.
