I went to Lupa early during its run, and was underwhelmed; I was wandering around the neighborhood last evening, however, and decided to give it a second shot, hype aside. Oh my. My impromptu dining companion and I split three perfect plates of antipasti--crisp asparagus, smoky eggplant, and savory artichoke hearts--all of which were light, fresh, and blessed with just the right amount of olive oil. My companion had a pasta special--pork ravioli in truffle butter sauce, which was wonderful--and I had the tuna belly, which was crowned with plump raisins and golden onions. The whole bill, wine included, came to abougt $70 including tip, which I thought eminently reasonable. Always pleasant when foodies and chowhounds can come together.
