Lunch at Po:Review

I met a friend today for lunch at Po in the Village, on Cornelia St. What a lovely little place! While I have known about it for forever, this was my first time there. We had a delicious meal. They put on the table, complimentary, 2 white bean brushetta, that we scooped up immediately...& wished for more. Their beautiful crusty bread is something I could make a meal of all by itself. We both started with a salad special, mixed greens, red peppers, onion & goat cheese. Very good. I had the chicken paillard, on top of tri-colored greens. It was perfectly grilled, thin, filled with flavor & moist. Excellent. My friend had the guinea hen, that was boneless, on top of what looked like a vegetable risotto, but was a wonderful mix of scallion, corn, fregula (kind of like couscous) & melted cheese & it said "saba" (but we can't figure out what that was referring to...anyone know the translation?). The hen had a raspberry balsamic sauce drizzled over it. My friend was a very happy camper. With an expresso & coffee and a shared plate of fresh figs for dessert, the bill came to about $50. Very good & very reasonable. I would go back in a heartbeat, both for lunch &/or dinner.
