OK, this is a second try. On a Tuesday in May, I've been asked to find a lunch venue for 20 or so folks. Originally, they asked me to keep the cost to around $20 each, but that doesn't appear doable for a good lunch. Then we tried the Hilton, where the conference is taking place, but they aren't open for lunch, and a catered box lunch is $38 plus tax and tip.
This is a retirement lunch for two ladies who work for the government. We'll have up to 2 hours total to get to the venue, eat lunch, and get back. The ladies are omnivores, and I haven't been given any dietary restrictions to work with, and they're not all from Dayton :-)
Come on, SF 'hounds, help a midwestern girl out! Chowhound has earned me the rep of the "go-to" person when selecting dining places on the road (I always give full credit to the site, but folks are lazy, and they'd rather ask me than look themselves...)
