I've been driving by this place for 4 years and have wondered what it was like.
Yesterday I stopped in, and was pleased with the menu selections. I didn't try any tacos, (I will, I promise) but instead opted for the chicken chimi with guac and sour cream. I LOVE chimichangas and I'm pretty critical about them. (Reminder to self: next time order it without beans.) The darn thing had beans in it which was weird, to say the least. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but the beans were just strange. The chicken was in chunks, not shredded, but very good. The hot salsa I chose was great. I need great salsa by my house, and I found it. It's perfectly garlicky and hot. YUMMY! I will be picking some up on my way home, today. My plate was served with a side of beans and rice. I don't normally like spanish rice except for my mother-in-laws and my friend, Paula's, but this was good. Not too dry and not sticky at all.
So, I did like Lulu's and next time I'm trying the tacos...I hear they're fabulous.
