Last night five of us had dinner out Chowfish's way at a new little Cantonese place. We found the food very good and cheap,

We had the $28.00 set dinner menu

Westlake beef soup, lot of beef with egg whites and clean tasting broth, not salty are all. All the dishes had low salt and very clear fresh taste.

Chinese mustard green with minced garlic, very fresh, cook just right with a little crunch.

Peking style pork chops, one of better "sweet and sour" (I know it not sweet and sour) style sauces very good balance.

Chinese style beef stew in a claypot, lots of tendon's in the mix with the stew meat, with chunks of turnips.

Pan fried flounder, this fish was of very good size at least 1 1/2 lbs. Do so that the fin bones were crispy.

We also add one of my best liked clay pots, side pork with perserved vegetables. The side pork still had good texture, while still tender. This a hard combination to get. In fact is was so good that I order one to go for the boys who had to work.

The check came to 49.00 plus or minus (no tip). Great meal anytime you can have a good seven (count the one to go) for under ten a head it a great deal.

The cook came from Hong Kong and it is newly opened. They have a set dinner menu, which top out at 188.00 with Peking Duck. Maybe a chowdown site.
