I was visiting Little Rock, AR earlier this week on business and our wonderful hotel (Peabody) recommended a great local brew pub for dinner: Bosco's.
Our group was sick of stuffy steak houses and we thought the restaurant was great for fun atmosphere, VERY attentive service and really good food and value.
We started off with a big order of their Garlic Parmesan Fries for the table. They were so garlicky and good -- all thoughts of sticking to weight watchers went right out the window. For mains, We had the Portabello Club Sandwich, Black Bean & Goat Cheese Tamale and the Planked Salmon. My co-worker thought the salmon was good, though not the best he's ever had. The mushroom club sandwich was very good with excellent flavor and the mushroom's texture was perfect. But the star of the evening (besides the beer) was the tamale. It was fantastic! And I have to say that as a vegetarian who travels on business weekly throughout the South, it is so wonderful to have lots of great veggie food choices.
As for the beer, it was great. I'm sad to say I can't remember the name of the one I had, but it was recommended when I mentioned that I love Belgian and Dutch beer.
And finally I must mention that our waiter was terrific. Between the ducks at the Peabody and the tamales at Bosco's, I'll be excited to go back to Little Rock soon (which is a very friendly city, I have to say.)
