so, my boyfriend and i are celebrating our fifth anniversary and since my life is dominated by chow, we decided to go to R&G and order far too much food for two.
right now, the menu will probably be:
salt and pepper crab
sticky rice stuffed chicken
steamed live shrimp
pea pod stems (dao miu, i think) or other veggie sauteed w/garlic
and maybe something else not fried
we've been before and had all but the chicken.
i read the recent chowdown report and searched the archives, but i have few questions:
1. i know to call 24 hours ahead of time for the chicken, can i say "sticky rice stuffed chicken" or should i say "no mai gai" as a previous post suggested? or some other cantonese phrase?
2. can someone suggest a wine (around $30 or under) to go with this meal? the board consensus seems to be with a riesling it seems...
3. what is the corkage fee there?
