I'm referring to breakfast sausage in a tube with the metal bands on either side. I found some hiding in my freezer that is over a year old. Would you eat it? On a slightly different note: being single, I vacuum seal the meat I buy so it will last longer. And I have used meats I cleaned and vac sealed that were in the range of a year old, and they were perfectly fine. I am aware the USDA suggest no longer than 2 months in the freezer. I'm just saying, if meat is cleaned, vac sealed properly, and kept frozen, it does seem to last much longer than suggested. Also, this is just a regular freezer, not a deep freeze.
