How long is too long in the kitchen?

Tracy L. | Jan 16, 2006 08:43 PM

After reading the Cassoulet post and spending 4 hours yesterday making the butternut hazelnut lasagna from epicurious (I ran out of milk, beer and tin foil so going to the store added to my production time) I was wondering what constitutes too much time in the kitchen? I'd recommend the lasagna recipe to anyone who I thought would appreciate it but I think some people would be put off by how much time it takes to make it, without running an errand of course. Assuming you have spare time to work in the kitchen, where do you draw the line as too long in the kitchen? Do you have to produce something incredible to warrant extra time?
