How long will fresh turmeric paste last?

sandiasingh | Jun 10, 201409:34 AM     5

I buy fresh turmeric root to make my own paste for use an an anti-inflammatory. I boil it and then whiz it in the Cuisinart with ground black pepper (which enables the body to absorb the turmeric).

I just made about 4 cups that will last about a month. I usually freeze it in smaller containers, but turmeric stains very badly so I'd like to keep the number of containers to a minimum. If I can use one large container I would prefer that as long as it doesn't go bad after a few weeks.

Any idea how long it will last in the fridge? There are no other ingredients except turmeric and black pepper.

Thanks.
