London Tea House in Bethesda - 22 thumbs up!

I say 22 because that's how big the group was that I organized last Sunday afternoon. 1/2 were young girls, and we all were impressed with the service & food at this fairly new teahouse on Bethesda Avenue near the crab house & Louisiana Express.

For $15 a pp (incl. tax & tip), we had a choice of many different teas (incl. fruit or herbal), or for the girls, real hot chocolate or a warm "milk tea" with vanilla & cinnamon. We were served scones with jam & clotted cream, and crustless sections of sandwiches: tuna, cheese & tomato, cucumber or jelly (for the girls). Followed by strawberries, small cream puffs and cookies.
There was plenty of food for the price & everything was tasty and presented attractively. Even the dishware, individual tea pots & utensils were pretty. I think the girls' favorite items were glass dishes holding crystalized bits of sugar (which looked like broken up rock candy).

It's a charming restaurant - even the ladies room was pretty & sparkling clean. The staff was well-organized, very friendly, and got every single order of beverage right the first time.

Tea services start at $10 pp. They also serve lunches & are open daily (tea from 2-6), although I thought I read a sign that said they would soon close on Mondays.

It's run by a family that also runs LTHs in Taiwan.
And they do host bridal and baby showers!

So I do recommend London Tea House, their phone is 301-656-9268, at 4953 Bethesda Ave.
