Started out pretty darn good they serve the best bacon of all things I have had in years at the bar as a snack with some sort of roasted addictive nuts + Jack Nicholson was 3 from where I was sitting god I love LA.
I really like the interior, but I am a sucker for this kind of treatment, Dakota is a special industry hangout hard to get into on a fri/sat, this is the overflow. The place has all sorts of great seating both inside and out. Double wedge is huge, more than enough to split get the 50/50 on the side great 1K-island and blue cheese dressings + side of bacon + side of cheese - gazpacho soup was huge and tasty, not the typical blender stuff. NY was 14oz @ $40 and had no, nada, 0, flavor ditto for the ribeye next to Mortons 24oz NY for the same price it does not even quality as steak, I kid you not. I dont know what they are doing in their aging process and/or cooking procedure but they have successfully sucked all the life out of their steaks. Wine list has some interesting stuff and priced to match I brought my own 2000 Gaja super tuscan and it worked darn well. Sides were also huge and good, creamed spinach was great the salted potato is a hoot, loaded with bacon and sour cream, its over the top. Deserts were good; the trio of sorbet was excellent. I think the place can work in certain instances, but based on what I tasted I would not order steak if all that was ordered was a fish main in the mid-20s and a salad it would be enough for a couple to split bread and butter was fine, nothing to change ones life, but good I like the pretzel nuggets, nice. I like the place, really a super place to grab a drink and hang, for me dinner can be made up with nothing more than that bacon @ the bar, bet that does not last long. If you like Dakota then you will like this place I would think.
