Live, good mussels to cook at home, near Long Beach

iheartcooking | Sep 9, 201502:08 PM     20

I've got a pregnant craving!!!
And there's no restaurants in the area that I trust to cook mussels for me the careful ways that I've read about on the Home Cooking threads. I think I can handle the job, but I need to find some.
I live south of LA, near Long Beach.
I'm not looking for the best mussels ever, wild and from New Zealand or whatever. I'm looking for live mussels that won't kill me.

Where are they found? The supermarkets only seem to have thawed dead smelly seafood.

Am I out of luck?
If so, is there a restaurant in this area that does them well? I haven't had any luck finding one.
