Leo's/Mama's--say it ain't so!

So, I thought that I would treat myself to a sandwich from Leo’s in Corona today. Having had numerous fabulous offerings from there since moving to Queens a few years ago, my expectations were set at their normally high level. I arrived back home, unwrapped the sandwich and bit in. The meats were outstanding, the cheese, incomparable, the mushrooms and peppers were delish. And then there was the bread. To suggest that it was day-old is insulting to truly day-old bread, which is at least generally edible. This was a freakin’ rock. After a few bites, I ended up taking out the contents and eating as if I was some sort of low-carb nutjob. If I hadn’t eaten so many wonderful sandwiches (and everything else they serve) from the store in the past, I would almost certainly never go back. As it is, my disappointment is palpable—I couldn’t be grumpier—hence I’m venting here. Anyone else had similar experiences at Leo’s? It just seemed so out of character…
