Back to Leona's

Zippy | Aug 27, 200509:25 AM

Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in on Leona's. Here is a place that keeps trying to reinvent itself. At least so it seems.

They are forever changing their menu. A staple was their variety of chicken dishes which seems to have lessened as of late. Gone Is Leona's fried chicken which I thought was really some of the best fried chicken around. (must be gone due to lack of interest, it's been on the menu since I have been going way back in 75) (Is fried chicken a health issue? Is it any worse than a Cheeseburger? Or a big brownie for dessert?)

I used to go to the original on Sheffield years ago, but in recent years have gone to the location in Old Irving, Wicker Park and their latest one downtown on Franklin.

3 places that only have the menu in common. Old Irving always has terrible service, Wicker Park is usually crowded when we've gone, and the one on Franklin I like best, there is NEVER anyone there, plus they have parking.

Leon's also has a response card for their food and service. I have responded in the past, never got back any response from them, have you?

Any thoughts?
