Lenten church pierogies?

Professor Salt | Mar 16, 2006 10:59 PM

The best pierogies I've ever eaten were made on Fridays during Lent at a Greek Orthodox church in my upstate college town. Potato or cabbage filled pillows slathered with minced onions caramelized in butter. Wonderful stuff that I've never been able to get since I left there.

So is there a church like that in LA / OC that makes great pierogies, or other fundraising food for Lent?
