Lee's Sandwiches - Banh Mi in Falls Church and Beyond

Steve | Jul 17, 201807:11 PM     6

I never paid much attention to the Lee's Sandwiches chain until I saw one of the food tv shows (was it Bourdain?) where they highlighted Lee's in the Little Saigon area of Orange County as a prime spot for banh mi. So I decided to take the plunge at their location in Falls Church, and I was surprised at how good it was. It might be their only location on the East Coast.

Of special interest is that they will add a fried egg or omelette to any banh mi. I first learned about this practice from watching a Bourdain in Vietnam episode, and to this day it remains the one food he's had that makes me the most jealous. His banh mi was loaded with a ton of very inticing ingredients.

They seem to always be producing fresh bread out of their ovens (the location on Annandale Rd and Rte 50 in Falls Church is expansive), with a sign saying they have fresh hot bread every 30 minutes.
