The second of two great finds this trip; the first being Goust.
This gem at 96 Rue Richelieu was, I think, our favorite meal of the whole trip. Likely won't get any stars like Goust but it is going to be on our list for every visit if it remains on this level.
Lovely room, nicely appointed. Efficient and attentive service. Superb food with nice presentation. A la Carte lunch for 4 with two bottles of wine and cafe was only 233E. Had we opted for the entre/plat/desert formule (18.50E) the tab would have been 150E.
Every plate was spot on - no duds or weak ones.
Entrees - asperge blanche (2), pequillo peppers stuffed with brandade de moreau and oeuf en gelee.
Plats - foie de veau with red onions and chorizo (2) (perfect), filet thon (perfect0 and pave de rumstaek with gratin (again perfect).
Deserts - Vacherin, riz au lait, moelleux au chocolat and gratin de fruits.
If there is weak spot it is the wine list. Actually very weak given the quality of everything else. Prices are very reasonable but the selections could definitely be improved. That said, we found a very good Sancerre (28) and an excellent 2005 Ch Pradeaux Bandol (45).
They also have sandwiches and omelettes they sell on the street for what I would call dirt cheap. Didn't try them but I cannot imagine they would be anything but very good 3-5E. 25cl pression - 2.50E.
They have been there for three years near our apartment and I cannot, for the life of me figure out why I have never heard of it before. It is a gem.
