Le Marais Bakery [Marina District, San Francisco]

This is a continuation of a discussion about Le Marais, a new French bakery in San Francisco,

I had a chance to try it last weekend. I asked for the rosemary kouign amann, but I must have been given the strawberry one. The KA had small purplish, pulpy blobs and didn't taste even remotely herbal or of rosemary. The buttery pastry had good color but barely any caramel, just a scant glaze. I tasted no salt. I found it too croissant-like and not robust enough.

I also got a pistachio macaron. This had a nice chewy texture, but like most macarons in the City, was not intense enough in flavor.
