Need LAX-area help!

bagdoodle | Jul 21, 201706:01 PM

I have a Chinese friend coming to Los Angeles on Saturday night, July 22, 2017. (tomorrow night) She will be staying at the LAX Hilton and I will be taking her to a before-noon meal (Breakfast, Brunch, early lunch) on Sunday morning, July 23rd. Any suggestions for something worthwhile within no more than 20 minutes drive time? We're both open to anything, and the two particular subjects we had considered were the seafood places at Ports O' Call Village (now apparently run-down, filthy, and intolerable) and Porky's barbecue in San Pedro (now closed). What are your thoughts? We'd like something worth going to and not more than $30 or $40, total (including tip, no booze) for two people Please help. As you can tell, we haven't been in the area for years, and no longer know our way around. THANKS! .
