fyi--nothing fancy here, but a few places i've eaten in or from lately:

CARIDAD on kingsbridge near sedgewick i think. good fish offered here as a specialty. added bonus, they have a parking lot in back.

TROPICAL on melrose next to key foods. it was a jamaican place a while back but spanish food now. all the staples are pretty good.

DEL VALLE on burnside. great for kids. the 7 slice mini-pizza is plenty for little ones and a bargain at $3.50. they also have a good family style offer for $12. you get a whole roast chicken, platters of rice and beans and two 2-liter sodas. feeds at least four well. also, pretty ok lasagna too.
