Las Vegas mini-report

TNC | Mar 13, 2006 10:28 AM

Went to Vegas with a buddy who is very non-chow. Refused to go to LOS because of the taxi ride non-chow. KNEW LOS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST THAI RESTAURANTS HE'D EVER HEARD OF AND STILL SAID NO KIND OF PERSON. Does anyone know how to communicate with these people and make them understand?

Burger Bar was my favorite meal of the trip. I didn't care about the price or anything else, the burger was perfect. Size of bun, basic trimmings, perfectly cooked and juicy.....loved every bite. Will eat here every time I'm in Vegas.

Buffet at the Monte Carlo for dinner was the worst meal I've had in a long time. Tried a tiny bite of every type of meat and it was all terrible. Dry, overcooked, stringy, rubbery. The only thing semi-edible was the fresh-cooked 'asian' pasta in the center. Definitely not worth the money we paid. AND I got a look when I asked the carver to make smaller slices.

The brewpub in the Monte Carlo was a clone of every other brewpub in the country, and I didn't like the beer.

Going back soon just to eat at Burger Bar again and try LOS
