LA's Best Pupusas are Back

sku | May 2, 200809:01 AM     2

About a year ago, I did a pupusa round-up (linked below) and of all the places I tried (maybe a dozen total), the very best were at a small place on Beverly, just west of Normandie...La Nueva Flor Blanca. The pupusa revuelta was transcendent, with some of the best chicharron I'd had in a pupusa. They were hot as molten led and stuffed full with the delicious pork.

Alas, weeks after my review, they were closed by the Health Department, and seemed to be gone for good.

But just a few weeks ago, after being closed for nearly a year, they reopened and those same, piping hot, amazingly rich pupusas are back. If you are bien pupusero, you owe yourself a visit.
