Where to take a large group for dinner?

I like to go out to dinner for my birthday and then do something afterward, but I'm having trouble picking a restaurant and matching a restaurant location with where I want to go afterward. I'm anticipating 10-20 people for dinner. I want some place that's not outrageously expensive but also decent. It should take reservations. Metro-accessible is a plus, but I have a car and live near the metro, so it's easy for me to pick people up. The type of cuisine doesn't matter as long as it has a good atmosphere for groups. I'm looking for places I don't usually go, which is why I'm asking for suggestions.

I kind of wanted to find a good teppanyaki place, but none of the ones in the area seem that great. I've been to the Matsutake in Herndon and it was just average. I've heard Benihana isn't all it's cracked up to be, and it's expensive in comparison. I live near Sakura in Tyson's but haven't tried it.

It might be nice to find somewhere around Bethesda/Rockville (considering going to Dave and Busters, but I don't want to eat there) or Annandale/Springfield. I've done a lot of Korean BBQ lately, so while convenient and good for groups, I'm basically ruling it out. Around Tyson's wouldn't be bad either. I could potentially do in-DC but might have to change my after-dinner plans.

I know this is all kind of open-ended, but any suggestions are appreciated, I'm just looking for ideas I wouldn't think of.
