Looking for large "ethnic" restaurant for a wedding reception- 175 people or so

I'm gettin' hitched, inshallah, and looking for places to hold the party. New York being what it is w/r/t real estate, though, most of my favorite places to eat are pretty tiny, and most of the places suitable in size for a wedding party seem to either have large markups, uninteresting food, or both.

My partner and I are tempted to just do it in Boston at a viet place we know with great food- stingray hotpot, Oc Len, lau de, wonderful goi sua tom, etc.- but our lives and most of our friends are here, so we hope to not have to go that route.

Any recommendations as to places that are large (seating a little under 200 people, with the possibility of live music/dancing), relaxed/not fancy/inexpensive, and tasty?

About us: We're no-frills, seriously gut/tongue-oriented, and as one would expect we're deathly afraid of what the party will do to our wallets. We're also not particularly good-looking or smart or interesting, but we're pretty nice when you get to know us.
Foods we like: anything strong in flavor (so usually not dominican food, but pretty much everything else). The old rural restaurant, before it burnt down, was probably our favorite spot in flushing. Now it's probably the dongbei place on main street? We eat a lot of filipino, bangla, thai, and trini food too.
