The refrigerator thread got me thinking - does anyone make a "larder" or "root cellar" appliance? I call it that for lack of a better word, but what I'm really looking for is that "cool dark place" to store potatoes and onions and oils and all of the other things that shouldn't go in the fridge, but which will spoil faster on the counter. Ideally, it would have several compartments, each with their own temp and humidity adjustments.
Any thoughts? Is anyone else lusting after something like this for their standard apartment kitchen?
