Took my in-laws (88 and 85) to Langers yesterday. Neither had been there in many years. Each of us had a basic pastrami-on-rye; no need to describe except to say "perfect." Toward the end of lunch my mother-in-law, who spent her girlhood on the Lower East Side, looked sort of dreamily out the window and murmured, "Delancy Street." A lovely moment at a great deli.
