Tonight Hubby and I went to Molly's Pub on Chestnut street in lancaster. We had not been there in about 6 years, and since then Molly's had been bought and sold at least 2 times. We found the restaurant to be more than half full, and quietly buzzing. We perused the menu. Lots of nice appetizers, hot and cold sandwiches and entrees. We both went for sandwiches. My hubby had the fried mozzerella to start. It was very attractively presented and quite delish. It was prepared with fresh mozzerella, hand breaded, not store bought frozen crap. However, the portion was not as large as one would expected for the price ($9.50). Hubby also had two drafts of Guinness. It was served quickly and of course enjoyed quickly. Each draft was $4.75, wich seemed a little much. Hubby then had a bacon cheese burger ($9.50). It was litterally over flowing with bacon (at least 6 peices) and dripping with cheese. It was 8oz and grilled to perfection. Hubby ordered it medium rare and we were so happy to find it just that. i hate ordering burgers only to have them served medium-well! On the side was a heap of hot waffle fries. Overall, hubby pronounced his burger and fries as woderous. I chose the roast beef melt. it was served on my choice of bread and was over 8oz of sliced medium roast beef. There was a creamy horseradish sauce on the beef. This was topped with my choice of cheese (I picked muenster) and a pile of mushrooms. The menu said it was to come with fried onions, but I chose to substitute. My sandwich also came with a heap of fries, and cost $9.50. Over all, we had a good time and will return. The apps and beer seemed to be expensive. If you make more money that I do you may not feel that these are bad prices. The sandwiches were hot and yummy, and seemed to be a good value. The wait staff were attentive with out being smothering. This restaurant is not handicap accessible. The bathroom is in the lower floor. The crowd seemed to be in the mid 50's, but Hubby and i were ther early so maybe there are a wider variety of people there at later times. All in all, we had a good night.
