La Terza -Saturday Lunch

There are so few places serving a nice lunch on Saturday (besides Lucques and La Terza, I couldn't even think of any other options today) that it made this lunch stand out all the more.

I started with a platter of salumi that was impeccably delicious. Each of the meats was both lucious and delicate at the same time. I then had a special of porcini risotto. Perfect texture and a judicious use of red pepper gave it a surprising but welcome zing.

My wife had a beet salad with gorgonzola and walnuts. The beets had a great earthy flavor. She followed this with another appetizer of eggplant rolled around mozzarella. Very rich.

We finished with torta di nonna, a wonderful tart with toasted pine nuts.

Great service in a very pleasant atmosphere. It deserves more Saturday lunch business.
