Wondering if anyone goes to La Mascota to buy tamales? I do. I get tamales every couple months just about. I love tamales but I don't eat them too often. I have had many tamales in the Los Angeles area and these are the best.
I went on Saturday and to my sad surprise I found out that Rosina died. She is the lady that you would see normally at the register. She was co-owner. Her dad started the business years ago but he passed away I think in 2002. I was there at La Mascota a couple of months ago and did not see Rosina there and was wondering why because she always is. Then I went on Saturday and saw they put up a poster in tribute to her. Turns out she passed away last month. I think she might have been ill that's why I did not see her the time before that I went there. She did not ever look sick when I saw her but who knows right?
It's too bad she died but the bakery lives on and the tamales are simply the best.
